Lunch at The Barn
If you've not been to The Barn, you've been missing out!

The newest addition the the Windhoek Restaurant scene is situated in Acacia Street, Suiderhof. The interior of the place is rustic contemporary with greenery everywhere to give the space an earthly feel to it.

Upon arriving here the 1st time I was wow'ed at all the space available at The Barn. There is two function venues that can cater for parties and meetings-easily seating up to 60 people in the brand new conference venue. They have a beautiful outside deck perfect for an event / cocktail party. It's also an ideal place to work from as they offer free wi-fi and usb charging ports at their seating area.

What I love about this place is that everything is made in-house from scratch. From the tomato sauce, the delicious pie pastry even the chickpea flour used in the vegan omelette. What I like about it is how child friendly it is. They have a outside play area for kids as well as an interesting kids menu- making it the perfect place to take your little ones.

We went for a relaxed lunch to The Barn during the week and we got treated to the chef's two favorite dishes, the Butter Chicken and the Steak and Onion Pie. I had the Butter Chicken with rice, roti and sambals. The dish was cooked to perfection and you had the option to add extra chili if it's not hot enough. It paired perfectly with a glass of Chenin Blanc and the portion size was more than enough. The pie was served with rustic fries and home made gravy- another recipe the chef is very proud of! Overall the food was hearty and very tasty. I'm looking forward to go back soon and try some of their breakfast options.
